If you missed last night's band sign-up and instrument tryouts, don't worry! You still have a chance to do so on Tuesday, May 23rd from 5:30-7:30 in the MCJH auditorium. The actual tryout only takes about 10-15 minutes, so make plans to bring your student to try as many instruments as they want! If you have any questions, please email Ms. Kile at kilet@maconcountyschools.org Thank you!

We have just received word from law enforcement that the possible threat was indeed a hoax. We have canceled the lockdown and are resuming a normal school day. The school system thanks you for your patience and understanding during this time. The safety of our students and staff is our priority and the measures that were taken this morning were done so with that in mind. Again, thank you for your understanding.

Parents:
We have received a threat of a possible shooter in our schools. It is very similar in nature to threats that have been received in recent days in other Tennessee counties. They have been investigated by the TBI and have been deemed a hoax, which originated in Florida a couple of weeks prior. Local law enforcement is working the case and will also be more present in our buildings. Again, this is very similar to the “swatting” incidents that were reported on the news last week. These have been plaguing many school system, not just in Tennessee, but across the country, and ours seems to be one of the systems affected We will be in a lockdown situation with extra law enforcement present until the investigation is complete and we are sure there is no threat to our students or staff. We understand the anxiety that this causes for both your children and you as parents, and appreciate your patience during this situation. More information will be released as it becomes available.
