Macon County Schools

The Macon County School System is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Rachel Stafford. Dr. Stafford will be the new principal at Fairlane Elementary School in Lafayette beginning with the 2026-27 school year. She has elementary teaching experience and has also served as an elementary school principal and assistant principal for more than a decade. We are excited to welcome Dr. Stafford to our district and look forward to working alongside her.

Dr. Stafford had these words to share, "I am honored and excited to join Macon County Schools, the Fairlane Elementary team, and the Lafayette community. The character, values, and moral foundation of Lafayette closely align with my own, making this opportunity especially meaningful. It is both encouraging and inspiring to become part of such a strong and supportive community. I look forward to contributing to its continued success and working collaboratively to create an even brighter future for our children."
