Double bus routes for this afternoon. Note: #9 and # 29 will begin loading schools at 2:15pm. The students on these routes will arrive home approximately 45 minutes earlier than normal. Bus #9 will double for #11 Bus #29 will double for #60

The Macon County Board of Education will interview the 2 Director of Schools Finalists on Monday, September 19th at the MCHS Auditorium. After the interviews, the MCBOE will set 30 minutes for each candidate to meet with community groups along with any Faculty/Staff member that wishes to do so. The schedule is listed below. 5:00 pm Rick Duffer Interview 6: 00 pm Shawn Carter Interview 7:00 pm Rick Duffer meets with community groups/faculty/staff 7:30 pm Shawn Carter meets with community groups/faculty/staff

In order to prevent students who have double bus routes from arriving home so late, Macon County Schools Transportation Department will begin early double routes in the near future. Please pay attention to the Macon County Schools app and Macon County School District Facebook Page as this information will be posted daily if the district doubles any bus routes. If we run any route early, that route will be listed on the app or Facebook page, and will be arriving home approximately 45 minutes earlier than normal. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Macon County School Bus Garage. Lafayette Elementary pick-up line turns off of Bratton Ave. onto Poplar St. then onto High St. into the parking lot. No one is allowed to turn from Sycamore onto High St. due to holding up bus traffic.
