It has come to my attention that many are under the impression that a student who has a lunch/breakfast debt is not eligible to participate in graduation. And, money to help pay for food service debts has been donated to the Macon County Board of Education. While the system is very appreciative of any donations to help erase student debt, in no way was a student's grade or graduation tied to any possible money owed for lunch or any other fee. The money that was turned is being counted separately by three different individuals and then will be handed over to a food service manager at one of the schools to pay any outstanding debt.

This afternoon a disgruntled, unarmed, parent tried to gain access to Red Boiling Springs School by hitting and kicking doors to the school. SROs took swift action to diffuse the situation and placed the school on lockdown. Students who were already loaded on buses were removed and returned back into the school until SROs deemed the area to be completely safe. We know that some of the elementary students were upset and wanted to inform parents of the situation. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

***LES Families*** The strawberry delivery that was scheduled for tomorrow will now be delivered a day next week. Due to an unforeseen situation at the plant, this has to be rescheduled. The new delivery date will be sent out soon so you can arrange for them to be picked up.

This is for students and families of all grade levels and hope that everyone will have a chance to stop by and take advantage of the resources that will be there.
