It was reported to our office that a resident near Lafayette Elementary School called law enforcement after hearing possible shots fired. Law enforcement canvassed the area, investigated, and found no evidence of a threat. Both LES and Central were placed on lockdown during this time as a precaution. After speaking with law enforcement, schools are being dismissed at the regular time. Officers are present on site and are also continuing to patrol as a safety measure. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but the safety of our students and staff is our main concern.
Spring Spectacular Beauty Pageant is this Saturday at MCHS. Forms can be dropped off at MCHS until Friday from 7:15a-3:15p to save on the $10 late fee. You can also register at the pageant on Saturday.

The “Movers, Shakers and Music Makers” – a performance workshop for children 4th thru 12th grade – returns next month. This 3-day workshop is an opportunity for the children to learn the basics in music and choreography and have fun while doing it. Workshop dates are May 2, 4, and 5 at the Macon County High School auditorium from 3 pm to 6 pm. The final public performance will be on May 6 at 6 pm. The workshop and performance are free. Thank you to TN Arts Commission for helping MCAC sponsor this special event. Home-school children are welcome. Red Boiling Springs Jr. High Girls Basketball will have tryouts for any upcoming 6th grade student for the 2023-24 school year on May 9th from 1:30-3. All upcoming 6&7th graders for the 2023-24 school year will try out May 10th from 1:30-3

Attention MCHS Juniors: Senior picture viewing is rescheduled for Saturday, April 15, and Sunday, April 16.
Viewings will be held in the MCHS Cafeteria. Please park at the front of the building or the back of the building and enter through the side Cafeteria doors.
We will honor all original times but will be available for viewing from 9-5 on both days.

There will be a Hiring Event on May 10 at MCHS Gym for students and the community. Student job seekers are required to pre-register using the QR code on the posters found within the high schools and will receive a ticket required to be excused from class and for entry to the event from 1p-3p. Community job seekers do not have to pre-register and can attend from 3p-5p by entering through the gym lobby doors. Contact Marla Davis at davism@maconcountyschools.org for more info.
Red Boiling Springs Jr High School will be having Volleyball try outs Monday May 8th from 1:30-3:00. This will be for any upcoming 6-8th grade student during the 2023-24 school year.
