Every school day, Macon County Schools Department of Pupil Transportation takes 3,600+ students to school in the morning and brings them home in the afternoon.  

Below are some interesting facts concerning our Pupil Transportation Department:

Number of buses owned and operated: 50

Number of morning bus routes: 45

Number of afternoon bus routes: 45

Number of different bus runs daily: 110

Total number of full-time employees: 51

Total number of part-time employees: 14

Number of school buses in Tennessee: 8000+

Research by the National Safety Council has shown school buses to be the 
safest form of transportation available -- safer than traveling 
in airplanes, automobiles or passenger trains.
